December NYC Bee - Hanukkah Quilt Block

For December's NYC Mod Bee, Helen asked us to make holiday quilt blocks (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc).  She also each sent us some beautiful gold fabric to use for the block.

I decided to go for a Hanukkah/Chanukah/Hanukah themed block.  I paper-pieced a dreidel (similar to THIS Hanukkah mug rug I made a while ago) and then framed it with a wonky log cabin.  I also added some small flying geese (tiny to piece, but fun!).  Here is the finished block:

"It's beginning to look a lot like Hanukkah..."

I hope Helen enjoys it, and I can't wait to see the other blocks!
