Baby Shower Gifts - Hexagons!

I'm invited to a good friend's baby shower this weekend, and I wanted to bring a handmade gift (along with a regular gift off the registry).  It was a bit too busy to make a baby quilt in time for the shower, so I decided to dress up some baby items!  I previously made similar gifts, and they were a hit.

I found a set of two plain onesies, which I embellished with hexagons.  I hand-pieced the hexagons together and then machine-stitched them to each onesie:

I also found two organic burpcloths/washcloths, which I also embellished with hexagons:

I went for a pink and green color scheme throughout the hexagons, which pulled all of the items together and made them feel like a coordinated set.  It was a fun, fast baby gift, and I had a chance to use up some scraps (always a plus)!  I hope my friend and the baby-to-be likes them!

The full set.

  1. They're so adorably cute! I'm sure Mummy and baby will love them!

  2. ooooo Great Idea...and oh so swift...smiles..I will have to use this idea...I have a gift or two that I have to catch up on.
