Sashiko and Patchwork in the Park

Last weekend, a few ladies from the Metro Modern Quilt Guild met up for our second "Patchwork in the Park" event.  It was so hot, unfortunately, that we had to change our location from Central Park to Starbucks!



It was a really nice, relaxing time, and I got a lot of work done on my hexagon quilt.  Now I just have to figure out how large I want to make the quilt!

I also worked a lot on a sashiko kit that I've been stitching for a while.  I plan on creating a throw pillow for my bed, using the completed panel as the front cover.  Here is a photo (a model bed, not mine!) of the bedding, which is called "Palm Harbor."  I love the blue and white, and I think it will coordinate well with the navy sashiko fabric!
