I created this quilt for my sister-in-law's bridal shower about a year ago. I used a Jelly Roll of the Verna fabric line by Kate Spain and Kona cotton in Snow. I LOVE Kate Spain's fabrics, and I have used a bunch of her fabric lines. I'll post photos of my quilt in the Fandango line soon, and I'm currently in the process of making a quilt with the Central Park line. Sadly, all of the Kate Spain quilts have been gifts, so I don't have any left for myself. I should buy up some fabrics before they're all gone!

It was my second time using Jelly Rolls, and I wanted to find a fun and interesting pattern. I settled on a pattern called Strip Stacks by GE Quilt Designs. It was easy to follow, and I was pleased with the layout. I also wanted to make a large-ish quilt (at least 70 inches long), which meant that some of the standard Jelly Roll patterns would be too small.

The quilt was a lot of fun to make and pretty easy. I added the white outside border (not originally in the pattern), used a wide blue binding, and pieced the back. I quilted it with a meandering free motion pattern, which was my first time free-motion quilting! The quilt measures about 55 by 75 inches.

So far, this has been my most popular quilt on Flickr, and I can understand why. It is simple, modern-ish and would work well with any Jelly Roll. Even the talented Kate Spain herself commented on the photo! Please let me know if you have your own versions...I'll be happy to post them!
